On July 10, the district launched ParentSquare, the new school-to-home communication system for school news and announcements, replacing SchoolMessenger. ParentSquare is also Education Law § 2-d compliant, a student data privacy and security law that requires the protection of students’ personally identifiable information from unauthorized disclosure.
Parents/Guardians
Parents/guardians can Sign in to ParentSquare to activate their account and update ParentSquare preferences for receiving communication.
Community Members
Those without a child in the district, but still interested in receiving Schuylerville CSD news and notifications can join the Schuylerville CSD Community Group. Users can choose to receive district news (information and announcements about school-building events, athletic events, musical performances, and the annual school budget/Board of Education election) and/or school delay and closure notifications when inclement weather is predicted/present.
Mobile App
All ParentSquare users are encouraged to download the ParentSquare mobile app, a free download:
Once downloaded, ParentSquare offers the following options:
- Receive messages from the school via email, text, phone call or app notifications
- Choose to receive information as it is sent or all at once with a daily digest that evening
- Communicate in your preferred language
Questions
Parents/guardians who did not receive an email from ParentSquare Wednesday, July 10, should contact the main office of their child’s school building to update their parent portal account. SchoolTool and ParentSquare sync every 24 hours to encompass any updates that are made. Additional ParentSquare questions can be directed to Schuylerville CSD Communications Director Taryn Kane: kanet@schuylerville.org.
We look forward to the launch of ParentSquare and continuing to enhance and improve the district’s communication with students’ families and the community!
