Schuylerville Elementary School celebrates students who exemplify the “3 B’s”

Students attend the 3Bs December assembly

Schuylerville Elementary School held a special assembly to recognize students who embody the core values of the school’s 3 B’s: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. The initiative aims to highlight positive behaviors and encourage students to model these qualities throughout their school day.

Principal Stacy Marzullo led the assembly, reminding students of what it means to live out the 3 B’s in various school settings, including during assemblies, in classrooms, and on the playground. The event provided an opportunity for students to reflect on the importance of their actions and choices, emphasizing how these values create a respectful and supportive school community.

Students from UPK through grade 2 were nominated by their classroom teachers for their outstanding demonstration of respect, responsibility, and safety. Students in grades 3-5 participated in a peer-voting process to identify classmates who stood out for consistently displaying these values.

Each grade level celebrated honorable mentions, while winners received a pencil, a Schuylerville CSD hat generously donated by the Old Saratoga Athletic Association (OSAA), and a signed certificate of achievement.

Principal Marzullo shared her thoughts on the importance of the program:

“We know that students see a lot of really great acts that adults do not always see. We want to hear who they feel is the MOST Respectful, Responsible, or Safe student in the entire grade level.”

The assembly also served as an educational moment, with Principal Marzullo elaborating on the expectations tied to each of the 3 B’s:

  • Being Responsible means working hard, making the right choices, and doing your best on schoolwork.
  • Being Respectful includes using good manners, taking care of belongings, using school materials properly, and showing kindness to everyone.
  • Being Safe involves maintaining calm and controlled bodies, taking extra care on playground and PE equipment, and keeping hands to oneself.

The recognition program underscores Schuylerville Elementary School’s commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student is encouraged to succeed academically and socially.

Congratulations to all the students who were honored during this event for their dedication to the 3 B’s!
