Hannah King speaks

Each season, student-athletes from across the region are celebrated not only for their athletic abilities, but also for their commitment to academic excellence. Hannah’s recognition as a scholar athlete speaks volumes about her ability to balance the rigorous demands of a varsity sport with high school academic studies. She has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership, discipline, and a strong work ethic in both the classroom and on the court.

As the recipient of the Section 2 Scholar Athlete award, Hannah spoke in front of 200 attendees, thanking her coaches and teammates for the opportunities given to her throughout the years. The Section 2 Scholar Athlete award showcases students who are role models for her peers, set a high standard for excellence in both athletics and academics, and underscore the importance of hard work and perseverance in everything they do.

Hannah attended the award ceremony with her parents and JV girls basketball coach Jeff Darrah. The ceremony took place in March at the conclusion of the 2025 basketball season and was held at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga Springs.
