Beyond Schuylerville High School
Approximately 95 percent of Schuylerville’s graduates will enter college for additional studies. The remaining students will enter the military for training, go on to vocational schools or join the workforce. Whatever their eventual choice, Schuylerville students are encouraged to develop a four-year high school plan that yields the academic background, training and work habits that will allow them to pursue their goals beyond high school.
The Student Services Center maintains a variety of college and career planning resources and tools to assist students in determining and reaching their future goals. Students are invited to use computer software that matches skills and interests with career opportunities. College information is also available, including college viewbooks and catalogs.
Paying for College
The cost of attending college is getting more expensive every year. The Student Services Center staff can provide you with information on scholarships and financial aid programs available to help families with college costs.
A large portion of the available financial aid for college and vocational training comes from federal and state governments. To qualify for this aid, students and parents must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in October of their senior year. The Student Services Center maintains information and applications for federal and State of New York financial aid programs. Some states and colleges may require additional applications and information, so you should make inquiries about those programs early in the application process to obtain those forms.
