Schuylerville High School is providing its students with an invaluable opportunity to jumpstart their college careers while still in high school. For the 2024-25 first semester, 156 students in grades 10-12 are enrolled in college credit courses. These courses collectively amount to 657 college credits across 16 classes, highlighting the school’s commitment to academic rigor and post-secondary readiness.
A collaborative effort with several colleges and universities, the rigor of the classes mirrors that of college-level coursework, helping students develop critical thinking, time management, and subject-specific expertise.
“This is an excellent opportunity for our students to have guaranteed college credit at a discounted rate before they even graduate,” said Principal Ducharme. “It creates a more rigorous high school course load for students, which provides them a more competitive advantage when applying to colleges.”
These opportunities are not limited to the fall semester. In the spring, students will have the chance to enroll in five additional classes, collectively offering 16 more college credits, further expanding the academic options available to them.
