2021 Board of Education Election
Voters will elect one person to a five-year term position that will begin on July 1, 2021.
Below are candidate profiles of individuals who have turned in petitions in the order they will appear on the ballot.
Amanda Medick is an Advanced Therapy Pediatric Physical Therapist at the Ballston Spa Central School District, providing direct services for children with special needs. She graduated from Schuylerville High School, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation science from Northeastern University and a master’s degree in physical therapy. Medick has served as the Advocates for the Schuylerville Public Library’s secretary, the Schuylerville United Methodist Church’s treasurer, and coached various soccer and T-ball teams through Old Saratoga Athletic Association (OSAA). Medick and her husband, who is also a Schuylerville High School graduate, have two children. Annabelle is in second grade at Schuylerville Elementary School, and Tucker will be enrolled in kindergarten in the fall. The family lives at 190 Hayes Rd. in Schuylerville.
Katie Brunson is a reading interventionist for the Ballston Spa Central School District at Milton Terrace Elementary. She attended Schuylerville CSD for grades K-12; after graduating high school, she went on to earn an associate’s degree in early childhood education from SUNY Cobleskill, a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from SUNY Oneonta, and a master’s degree in literacy from the College of St. Rose. Brunson has served on the Schuylerville Public Library Board of Trustees, and has also volunteered in many roles within the Old Saratoga Athletic Association (OSSA). She has two children; Morgen, her stepson, is in tenth grade at Schuylerville High School and her daughter Gracie who is in fifth grade at Schuylerville Elementary School. The family lives at 424 Route 32 South in Schuylerville.
